The 3rd race of the HDSRL was hosted by Dragons Running Club out of Yeadon.
The build up to the race saw a large amount of wet weather turning large sections of the course into a quagmire. Trail shoes were the order of the day.
5 club runners turned out for this challenging course which started out from the Adli car park in Yeadon, cut down to the pedestrian walk way towards Guiseley, then across a field in to Esholt Woods. The route continued under the bridge and down to the old water beds at Esholt Village. Once off Coach Rd the route, which had dried out considerably, included lengthy sections of thick deep mud interspersed with sections of woodland tracks.
The return included a long steep uphill section to the top of Esholt woods followed by a fast down hill to re-join the muddy track back up to Coach Rd.
Alex Wapples completed the course in 46:15, 5 minutes clear from the next club runner Andy Tattersall.
